Time Conditions

[ Reminder ]  FreePBX has an incredible amount of flexibility. In our examples if we don't mention a field or a tab in a configuration example, then we're recommending you leave it default/blank unless it's a feature you understand and need.

Time Conditions are the if-then capabilites that reference your Time Groups (such as your business hours) and send the caller to a pre-determined destination such a an Daytime Menu or AfterHours Menu.

Adding A Standard Time Condition (Example):

Time Condition name: WN Office Hours (Cosmetic, you can use any name)
      Time Group: <Select your pre-made time group>
Destination Matches: Where to send them. Usually a Daytime IVR?
Destination non-Matches: Where to send them. Usually a After-Hours IVR?

*IF* you have NOT created your IVR's yet (and you are going to use them), we recommend you abort this and go set them up and come back to this afterwards.

Click [Submit] to save your selections, and the red 'Apply Config' to get the PBX Server to make them live.

    Tips:

    1. In MOST cases, you will use a time condition to simply look at the time of day (Time Group) and send the incoming caller to your daytime menu (IVR) or afterhours menu (IVR) that you created. This allows you to give your calls a different menu (IVR) with a recording telling them the business is currently closed and to leave voicemail (or other actions) versus leaving them holding on a ringing phone that won't be otherwise answered.
