In order to receive a certificate, the SSL issuing company (Trustwave, XRamp, Verisign, etc.) must verify the authenticity of your domain, organization and/or company.
The domain you are requesting an SSL certificate for MUST match the ownership of the domain information which you filled out above. If you don't actually OWN your domain, and it's registered in another company's name or that information is invalid/old/outdated, you MUST update it first with your domain registrar. Until the actual domain information is correct and factual, a SSL certificate cannot be successfully issued.
You may be required to fax into the registrar SOME of the following information:
- Legal documents of proof of corporation (Articles of Incorporation, DBA, Certificate of Formation, Partnership Papers, etc.)
- US Tax Licenses (For Non-Profit Organizations and Sole Proprietors)
- VAT Certificates (International)
This information, if necessary, will be requested by the SSL issuing company and not World Net. This information is reviewed by the SSL issuing company on a case-by-case basis and they will request information from you directly as they require it.
